PITTSBURGH (AP) - A fire in a downtown Pittsburgh bagel shop spread to a champagne lounge upstairs, and resulted in one minor injury.

City Public Safety Director Michael Huss tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1k4WrkR ) the fire apparently started in the rear of a Bruegger’s Bagel shop then spread to Perle’, a champagne and tapas lounge.

The bagel shop was evacuated without incident and the lounge’s website says it is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, though it can be rented at other times.

The champagne lounge did not appear to be open when firefighters responded about 12:45 p.m. Monday, as smoke poured from the front of the upstairs business and through a rear roof.

The businesses are located in Market Square, home to several restaurants and specialty shops, and a favorite gathering place for downtown workers.

Injury details were not immediately available.
