SINKING SPRINGS, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a three-alarm fire destroyed an apartment building under construction in eastern Pennsylvania, but no injuries were reported.

WFMZ-TV (https://bit.ly/1lia8QU ) reports that the blaze was reported at about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday in Lower Heidelberg Township in Berks County.

Fire officials said the building, intended to be 55-and-over apartments, was just plywood and studs but drywall had not yet been hung.

The building burned to the ground. An apartment building next door was damaged and some residents were home, but no injuries were reported.

Television news crews said the blaze could be seen for miles away.
