OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Officials from Lawton and Fort Sill in southwestern Oklahoma plan to visit the state Capitol.

The Lawton Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, or STEM, will be honored Tuesday morning, followed by a performance from a bagpipe corps and the display of a member of the Field Artillery Half-Section.

The chamber of commerce, along with military officials from the Army post, local educators and government contractors will have displays set up in the Capitol’s fourth-floor rotunda.

Among those scheduled to speak are former House Speaker T.W. Shannon, Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb, and Fort Sill’s commanding general, Maj. Gen. Mark McDonald.
