TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The University of Tulsa football program has announced creation of the Glenn Dobbs Fund for Football Excellence and a goal of raising $500,000 during the next two years.

The fund is named after former TU star Glenn Dobbs who led the Golden Hurricane to a 25-6 record and two bowl games from 1940-42. His number 45 is retired by the university.

Dobbs later served as TU athletic director from 1955-70 and as head football coach from 19661-68.

Tulsa athletic director Derrick Gragg said Tuesday that the fund will be used for financial assistance in recruiting, equipment, team travel, training table, strength and conditioning, technology and facility infrastructure.
