EDISON, N.J. (AP) - The co-founder of one of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts has died. He was 95.

Edison-based Mack-Cali Realty Co. announced Tuesday that John Cali died on Saturday. A cause of death was not disclosed.

Cali co-founded Cali Associates in 1949, then took the company public in 1994. He continued as chairman for several years and helped guide its merger in 1997 with the Mack Company. He retired as chairman in 2000 and became chairman emeritus until retiring in 2003.
