NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Tulane is continuing to heavily recruit local talent, aiming to build on its first bowl season in 11 years and fill its new on-campus stadium.

The Green Wave added 24 recruits on Wednesday’s national signing day, with half coming from the greater New Orleans metropolitan area and 20 from Louisiana.

Now entering his third season, Tulane coach Curtis Johnson says this is by far his best class. It includes nine offensive players, 11 defensive players and a kicker.

Some of the Green Wave’s highest rated recruits include tight end Deondre Skinner, quarterback Glen Cuiellette, running back Dontrell Hilliard and kicker Andrew DiRocco. Top defensive recruits include linebacker Rae Juan Marbley and defensive linemen Braynon Edwards.

Last season, Tulane won seven games and lost to Louisiana-Lafayette in the New Orleans Bowl.
