JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Parts of Mississippi could see snow flurries Thursday.

The National Weather Service says that areas along and south of Interstate 20 down to the U.S. Highway 98 corridor could see light snowfall with up to an inch of accumulation. Areas north of I-20 could see flurries and a light dusting of snow.

Temperatures in the central Mississippi will be in the low to mid 30s through the day. Temperatures further south will be in the low to mid 40s. Areas could see some wintry mix and rainfall.

Forecasters said areas closer to the Mississippi and Louisiana border will see a sleet and snow mix which will switch over to light rain.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency says it and county emergency managers will monitor conditions closely and provide updates.
