ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - The University of Georgia Athletic Association plans to spend about $12 million to upgrade its baseball stadium.
The board of the nonprofit association on Friday unanimously approved the upgrade to Foley Field.
The construction project is slated to begin when the 2014 baseball season ends. It is expected to be completed in time for the 2015 season.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1eEfZf9) that the project will change the look of the entrance and completely rebuild the press box.
Concession areas, restrooms and the main concourse will also be renovated. Dugouts, locker rooms and other areas used by the players will get improvements. A new field level VIP lounge is also included in the plans.
