PLAINFIELD, N.J. (AP) - Several people have been taken to the hospital after a crash between a commuter bus and another vehicle in Plainfield.

The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. Friday. A New Jersey Transit spokesman says the bus was headed from Plainfield to Newark when it collided with the vehicle at the intersection of Berkman and East 2nd streets.

Plainfield Public Safety Director Carl Riley tells The Associate Press that eight people on the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Riley says both vehicles suffered minor damage and that the driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured and was allowed to drive from the scene.
