FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) - Police in Federal Way, Wash., say a woman suspected of shoplifting at a mall led police on a chase that ended with a wreck on Interstate 5 and caused a major traffic jam during the Friday evening commute.

The News Tribune reports (https://is.gd/PDaCVh ) that police say a Federal Way officer was trying to arrest the woman when she jumped into her car and drove right at him.

When officers gave chase, the woman drove onto southbound I-5, then tried to make a U-turn into the northbound lanes. Her car hit two vehicles before she came to a stop. Some minor injuries were reported.

Police spokesman Cathy Schrock says the woman was arrested.

Federal Way is south of Seattle.
