NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - In his first game back after missing eight games, Kyle Vinales scored 20 points and had seven assists as Central Connecticut State beat Fairleigh Dickinson 91-86 in overtime on Saturday.

Faronte Drakeford led the Blue Devils (7-16, 3-7 Northeastern Athletic Conference) with 25 points and Malcolm McMillan had 18.

Sidney Sanders, Jr. had 30 points, Mustafaa Jones 21 and Scooter Gillette 18 for the Knights (8-16, 4-6).

Central Connecticut only made 5 of 9 free throws in the extra session, giving FDU a chance but the Knights only made 2 of 8 shots and had a pair of turnovers.

Vinales‘ layup with 1:35 to play was the basket that forced overtime. The Blue Devils trailed by 12 with less than 6 minutes to go but Vinales, in his first conference game, had five points in a 12-0 run that tied the game at 77 with 3:05 left.
