CLARENCE, N.Y. (AP) - A woman is dead after a fire destroyed her western New York mobile home.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard says the fire broke out just before 8 p.m. Friday in a trailer park in Clarence.

Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters arrived on the scene and found a mobile home engulfed in flames.

They found the body of 76-year-old Nelsonia Voight. An autopsy determined that she died of smoke inhalation.

Fire investigators say the blaze may have been caused by careless smoking. The investigation is continuing.

The mobile home was completely gutted.
