HONOLULU (AP) - A man who was pulled from the waters off Oahu’s North Shore after his kayak flipped has died.

Police said witnesses brought the 39-year-old man to shore after Sunday afternoon’s accident and performed CPR before paramedics arrived. He later died at a hospital.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/1cZToEB ) several people were rescued around the North Shore on Saturday. They included a woman who was washed off the rocks at Shark’s Cove and was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Shayne Enright said winter is dangerous along the North Shore because waves can wash people off rocks and ledges without warning.
