DALLAS (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Dallas man who gave heroin to two women who died of overdoses has pleaded guilty to distributing the drug.

Misael Perla pleaded Tuesday to two counts of possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Prosecutors say the 25-year-old Perla gave the drug to 20-year-old Alexandra Julia Moreno of Irving and 18-year-old Cassidy Seward of Grapevine.

Moreno used the drug in July while staying with Perla. He found her unresponsive the following morning and drove her to an Irving hospital where he left her with medical personnel in the emergency room. She later died.

Seward used heroin provided by Perla and was later found unresponsive by her family. She was taken to a hospital where she died.

Perla faces 20 years to life in prison for each count against him.
