HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. (AP) - Police have arrested a man and a woman who barricaded themselves inside a Hampton Falls home.

WMUR-TV reports (bit.ly/KhZ2er) that 36-year-old Darren Gragg and 32-year-old Melissa Amato, both of Hampton Falls, were arrested around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at a house on Lafayette Road after police negotiated with them. They have been charged with burglary.

Authorities say the incident started with a report of a suspicious car in Amesbury, Mass. The suspects were wanted for questioning in an ongoing investigation.

Police shut down a section of Route 1 and called in a SWAT team after the two barricaded themselves inside the home for hours. The road was reopened later.

Graff and Amato will be arraigned in 10th Circuit Court in Seabrook on Wednesday. Police say they could face additional charges.
