JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Howard Miskelly, a World War II veteran who found in Belgium, Holland and Germany, will be presented with the Bronze Star.

Miskelly will be honored Friday at the state Capitol by Gov. Phil Bryant and U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper, R-Miss.

Miskelly served as a squad Leader during the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaign and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. Now, 70 years later, Miskelly will be presented the Bronze Star Medal for his actions during combat in World War II.

The Bronze Star is the fourth highest combat decoration and recognizes meritorious service in battle.

After he was discharged from the Army, Miskelly and his family eventually started Miskelly Furniture, one of the largest furniture companies in the Southeast that employs almost 400 people.
