HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (AP) - Two juvenile males are facing explosives-related charges after a chemical device was triggered in a classroom in a Highlands Ranch school.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday the two were arrested on suspicion of possessing, using or removing explosive or incendiary devices.

Their names haven’t been released.

The incident occurred Tuesday at SkyView Academy. Authorities haven’t released any details, including the nature of the device or the chemicals involved.

The school says four students and a substitute teacher were treated at a hospital and released. The sheriff’s department says another student was taken to a hospital by family members and was released.

Authorities haven’t said if the juveniles who were arrested were among the injured.

The classroom wasn’t damaged.

SkyView offers pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade classes. Classes resumed Wednesday.
