BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) - Police have charged a woman with weapons offenses after she was found with a handgun near Bristol Eastern High School. There were no injuries.

WFSB-TV reports (bit.ly/1j8iTMe) that the high school was placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after authorities learned Brianna Lee Kowalski of Bristol was armed and nearby. She is being held on $100,000 bond on charges of possession of a weapon on school grounds, carrying a pistol without a permit, loitering on school grounds, breach of peace and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Police say Kowalski also has active arrest warrants for drug charges.

It was not immediately known if she has a lawyer.
