EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) - Julian Norfleet and Rashad Whack combined for 55 points in leading Mount St. Mary’s to an 89-80 victory over Wagner in a conference matchup on Thursday Night.

Norfleet recorded 28 points and Whack added 27 in an impressive effort by the Mountaineer backcourt tandem, who together averaged 36 points per game coming in. Taylor Danaher helped on the boards by grabbing nine rebounds.

Mount St. Mary’s (6-10, 2-1 Northeast Conference) led 37-35 at intermission after scoring the final eight points in the half, capped by a Whack 3-pointer with seconds remaining.

The Mount exploded in the early part of the second half, building a 20 point lead by 12:31 on another Whack trey. There was little Wagner (8-8, 2-1) could do as The Mountaineers’ hot hand prevailed to the final buzzer.

The Seahawks got 18 points from Latif Rivers while Mario Moody added 17 points with 13 rebounds.
