DENVER (AP) - A private meeting is in the works to discuss a campaign to bring the 2016 national GOP convention to Denver.

Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, is scheduled to attend on Friday, along with former U.S. Sen. Hank Brown, a Republican.

The Democrats held their national convention in Denver in 2008, formally nominating Barack Obama for his first term.
