NEW YORK (AP) - New York City police say they’ve arrested a man who fired a gun at them as they pursued him on foot.

Police say it happened while two officers were investigating a drug deal in Brooklyn on Thursday.

They say the suspect fled as they approached him.

During the pursuit, police say he reached into his waist band, produced a handgun and fired one shot. No one was struck.

Police say a struggle ensued during which police subdued the man and placed him under arrest.

The suspect, Darren Moore of Brooklyn, was charged with aggravated attempted murder of a police officer, criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal use of a firearm and other charges.

It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.
