PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty to giving illegal tattoos to two 14-year-old girls in a motel room in Maine will spend three years in prison.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1igycCs ) that 35-year-old Joshua Grant was sentenced on Friday to five years in prison, with all but three years suspended and two years of probation.

In Maine, it’s illegal to tattoo people under the age of 18 and artists must be licensed with the state.

Police say Grant invited the girls into his room to be tattooed and gave one girl a tattoo on her buttocks and the other girl a tattoo on her inner thigh.

Along with the illegal tattoo charges, Grant pleaded guilty Friday to other counts including unlawful sexual contact and possession of sexually explicit materials.
