MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Cedar Cultural Center is holding a benefit concert for victims of an apartment fire and explosion that killed three people near downtown Minneapolis.

The goal of Friday night’s concert is to raise money for victims and their family members. Organizers say it’s also a chance to bring the community together.

In addition to killing three people, the Jan. 1 fire left several others injured, destroyed a grocery store and displaced tenants.

Friday’s concert will feature The Brass Messengers, Spider John Koerner, Martin Devaney, Phil Heywood, Jon Rodine, Southside Desire, Augsburg JIVE and DJ Go Getta.

It’s hosted by The Cedar, Augsburg College, and KFAI Radio.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20. Money raised will go to the Cedar-Riverside Fire Disaster Relief Fund.
