OBERLIN, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say minor injuries were reported after a crash involving two northeast Ohio school buses sent at least eight students to hospitals.

Dozens of students from the Lorain County Joint Vocational School were returning from a local trip when one bus apparently rear-ended the other Thursday in Oberlin, about 30 miles southwest of Cleveland. The reason for the collision wasn’t immediately clear.

The students who were not sent to hospitals were evaluated at a nearby fire station and later taken back to school.

A school spokeswoman tells The Chronicle-Telegram in Elyria (eh-LEER’-ee-uh) that the students had been on their way back from a competition at Lorain High School.
