ALDAN, Pa. (AP) - Investigators in southeastern Pennsylvania say a malfunctioning kerosene heater may have started a fire that killed a man.

Fire crews responded to the blaze in the borough of Aldan shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Delaware County Daily Times (https://bit.ly/1hrURs5 ) reported that firefighters found the body of 78-year-old Edwin Duncan in the dining room.

Superintendent Michael Chitwood said one of the neighbors reported hearing him screaming for help, but firefighters trying to enter were forced back by heavy smoke and flames.

Authorities said several space heaters were found inside the residence.

Officials said a firefighter had minor injuries after the blaze.
