FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas begins this season No. 25 in Baseball America’s preseason rankings.

The Razorbacks, who were 39-22 last season and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the 12th straight season, lost in the finals of the Manhattan Regional to host Kansas State last season.

Led by coach Dave Van Horn, Arkansas had a school-record and NCAA-high 11 players taken in last year’s Major League Baseball draft - including pitcher Ryne Stanek, who was taken in the first round by Tampa Bay.

The Razorbacks are led by second baseman Brian Anderson, a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection last season. Arkansas, which has 27 new players this season, also returns team captains Jalen Beeks, Tyler Spoon and Jake Wise.

Arkansas opens its season on Feb. 14 at home against Appalachian State.
