MILWAUKEE (AP) - Marquette University has received a $10 million gift from an anonymous benefactor to build a new residence for Jesuit priests and support need-based scholarships.

Interim president Rev. Robert Wild said Monday $7.5 million will be used for the priest’s residence and to renovate the center of campus. An additional $7.5 in donations will be needed for the project. Marquette has hired Kubala Washatko Architects to design the new Jesuit residence

The remaining $2.5 million of the gift will be used for need-based scholarships, which Wild says is a priority in the university’s strategic plan.
