CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) - Cranston police continue to search for two home invasion suspects who beat and robbed a 25-year-old local resident and tied him up with duct tape.

Authorities say the men forced their way inside a first-floor apartment on Milton Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Police say the suspects hit the resident in the head with a pistol and bound him with duct tape before making off with cash, a gun, video games and sneakers.

The suspects fled in a gold-colored Nissan Maxima.

The victim told police he managed to free himself after about a half hour. He was treated for minor injuries.

Police say the home invasion wasn’t random because the victim recognized one of the suspects as a former co-worker.
