EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A federal judge sentenced an Oregon man who broke into rural post offices to 21 months in prison.

Judge Ann Aiken imposed the sentence Tuesday in connection with a 2012 break-in at the Elmira Post Office. Allen Widmer pleaded guilty to the charge, and the government agreed to drop other charges, including that he burglarized the Marcola Post Office.

The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/jLDD24 ) the 43-year-old Widmer has been serving a state sentence for similar crimes, and will serve the state and federal sentences at the same time while remaining in an Oregon prison.
