MANY, La. (AP) - Sabine Parish authorities say a 41-year-old Many man arrested Saturday night on assorted charges was found hanged in his jail cell Sunday morning.

Sheriff Ronny Richardson tells The Times (https://bit.ly/M5VZXK ) the death is under investigation and no foul play is suspected since the man, Patrick J. Strickland, was locked down in an isolation cell away from other inmates.

Richardson says state police arrested Strickland and booked him into the Sabine Parish Detention Center on charges of fourth-offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance, resisting an officer and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and a traffic citation for proper equipment required on a vehicle.

The sheriff says jailers discovered Strickland Sunday morning with a sheet around his neck.
