LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s Center for Arkansas History and Culture has joined a nationwide program to bring four films on civil rights history to Little Rock.

The center was awarded a grant last year by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle project. The project was part of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.

The center will first show the documentary “The Abolitionists” at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center on Feb. 22.

The other films to be shown during the year will be “Slavery by Another Name,” ”Freedom Riders,” and “The Loving Story.”
