MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - Jackson County sheriff’s officers have wrapped up a three-week search of a rural Rogue River, Ore., farm where they say two people were killed and dismembered. They say they found no additional bodies.
The Medford Mail Tribune reports (https://is.gd/AwQyBF ) the search concluded Thursday. Investigators dug more than 50 holes and drained a pond in their search for any other possible victims.
Susan Monica is accused of killing a handyman and another unidentified victim. She has pleaded not guilty.
The sheriff’s office says Monica’s pigs have been euthanized and removed from the property. One former tenant at the ranch told the newspaper that Monica not only fed dead sheep to her pigs, but also shot three of his pets and fed them to the swine.
Sheriff’s officers have said they found human body parts on the farm. They have not offered details.
Monica is held without bail in the Jackson County Jail.
