JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Juneau had the wettest January on record.

Just over 10 inches of rain fell in Alaska’s capital city in January, just edging out the previous record set in 1985.

KTOO reports (https://is.gd/oCccnF) that’s well above the normal rainfall for January, which is about 5 1/2 inches.

But it’s a far cry from the 25 inches of rain reported this month in Yakutat, which wasn’t even a record there.

Not much snow fell this month in Juneau with all the rain. The city normally gets about 28 inches of snow in January, but had less than five inches this month.
