PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - The Paducah Sun has announced that Steve M. Wilson will become its next executive editor.

The western Kentucky newspaper (https://bit.ly/1aN4aUO) reports Wilson has more than 30 years of experience in senior positions at newspapers, most recently serving as editor of The Kentucky Enquirer.

In addition to several other positions, Wilson served as the managing editor of the St. Paul Pioneer Press in Minnesota from 1984 to 1986 and edited and directed a project called “Life on the Land: An American Farm Family,” which won a Pulitzer Prize.

Before that he served as editor of the Lexington (Ky.) Leader, which merged with the Lexington Herald and is now known as the Lexington Herald-Leader.

He is expected to begin in his new position in mid-February.
