SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - The 23-year-old man arrested in Illinois as a suspect in the attack on an 86-year-old Southaven woman has been extradited back to DeSoto County.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1fsDTdG ) Kwame Becton faces assault and theft charges in the Dec. 30 attack on Georgie McKee who was found bruised and injured inside her home.

He arrived Thursday at the DeSoto County jail.

Southaven authorities named Becton, who lived in the victim’s neighborhood, as a suspect in the attack that left McKee with a black eye and bruises all over her body.

Her car, a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, was also missing and later found in the Chicago area.

It was unclear whether Becton has an attorney.
