MANISTIQUE, Mich. (AP) - An Upper Peninsula park is changing its name to honor a sunken freighter and the mariners’ lives lost.
WLUC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1rqoYs2 ) that Lakeview Park in Manistique will hold a ceremony Sunday afternoon marking its name change to Carl D. Bradley Memorial Park.
The Carl D. Bradley was in Lake Michigan more than 20 miles off the Manistique shore on Nov. 18, 1958, when it sank in a fierce storm. All but two of 35 crew members died.
