ANALYSIS/OPINION:

We have military bases that have been closed down. Those bases have barracks, cafeterias and other facilities. Why the struggle over where to house the children crossing illegally into the United States?

In 1975, Fort Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania served as a refugee camp for Southeast Asian refugees. More than 32,000 Vietnamese and Cambodian refugees were resettled through that installation. Again in 1980, the Gap again became a refugee camp, when more than 19,000 Cuban aliens were brought there from the Mariel boatlift.

A suggestion to the president: Stop talking about Dream Acts and pathways to citizenship. Your words have meaning, and you brought this crisis upon yourself and the citizens of this country.
