SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - Zach Zehner homered and Cal Poly hung on for a 6-5 victory over Sacramento State to stay alive in the San Luis Obispo regional Sunday.

Sacramento State cut a three-run deficit to one in the eighth inning, scoring twice against Cal Poly closer Reed Reilly. But Reilly threw a scoreless ninth, eliminating Sacramento State.

Cal Poly (47-11) advanced to face Pepperdine later Sunday. A victory for the Waves would send them to the super regionals.

John Schuknecht was 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Nick Torres was 2 for 5 with two RBIs for Cal Poly. Reliever Bryan Granger got the win with 2 2-3 innings of scoreless relief.

Justin Dillon took the loss for Sacramento State (40-24), giving up all five runs and four hits with four walks in four innings.
