KILN, Miss. (AP) - A 16-year-old from Covington, Louisiana, has been killed and two others have been injured in a two-vehicle wreck in in south Mississippi.

Hancock County coroner Jim Faulk says Joshua Hathcox, the passenger in a Ford pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Lt. Johnny Poulos tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1mGkibl ) the accident occurred Saturday afternoon on Mississippi Highway 603 in Kiln.

He says the Ford F150 was traveling south when the driver lost control and was struck by a northbound Dodge Ram.

Poulos says the 17-year-old driver of the F150 was in critical condition at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, and the 53-year-old driver of the Ram was in stable condition at Garden Park Medical Center.

Poulos says each person was wearing a seatbelt.
