MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Police in Minot say a 30-year-old woman is facing various charges including assault after hitting a police officer in the face.
Police say the Minot woman is custody on charges of driving under suspension, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.
An incident report shows she was stopped around 8:20 p.m. Saturday for not having a front license plate on her car. Officers then found out she had a suspended Louisiana driver’s license.
She was arrested at that point for driving under suspension, but while officers tried to handcuff her, she began to resist, did not comply with the officers’ commands and struck one of the officers in the face.
The woman hasn’t been formally charged. She’s at the Ward County Jail. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.
