ANALYSIS/OPINION:

So President Obama decided to swap five dangerous Taliban members for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, but he had no problem leaving our ambassador and other American government personnel behind in Libya to die (“Obama defends deal with Taliban to free only American POW in Afghanistan,” Web, May 31).

This swap was a political public relations maneuver, as evidenced by White House mouthpiece Jay Carney saying, “The United Stateas does not leave our men and women behind in conflict.” However, clearly Mr. Obama and his administration did leave Americans behind in Benghazi.

The administration’s talking points on the Bergdahl issue are intended to discredit Rep. Trey Gowdy’s Benghazi investigation, especially prior to the November elections.
