Rep. Gregory Meeks, New York Democrat, lashed out at former Vice President Dick Cheney, who said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Russian President Vladimir Putin sees President Obama as weak.

“Dick Cheney should just keep his mouth shut and stay at home,” Mr. Meeks said Monday on MSNBC.

Mr. Meeks said military involvement in Ukraine should be taken off the table in favor of talks with allies and diplomacy.

“I think diplomacy is the only option here,” he said.

He cited the crisis last year in Syria, saying that no one had to die for their chemical weapons to begin to be disabled.
