A senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander has a message for the world: his finger is “on the trigger” and ready to “destroy” Israel at any time.

“Today, we can destroy every spot which is under the Zionist regime’s control with any volume of fire power [that we want] right from here,” Iran’s Fars news agency quoted Revolutionary Guard Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami as saying, the Jerusalem Post reported.

“Islam has given us this wish, capacity and power to destroy the Zionist regime so that our hands will remain on the trigger from 1,400 km away for the day when [a confrontation with Israel] takes place,” he added.

The comments come in the wake of the Israeli navy’s successful seizure of a ship in the Red Sea filled with rockets, which it believes were meant for militants in the Gaza Strip. Israeli officials accused Iran of orchestrating the shipment of contraband, the Associated Press reported.
