CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Chaunte McDowell scored 23 points and Sydney Nunley had 19 points, 19 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead Greenbrier East to a 48-38 win over Cabell Midland in the girls Class AAA quarterfinals Wednesday.

Greenbrier East came from seven points down in the third quarter at the Charleston Civic Center. McDowell hit three 3-pointers over a three-minute stretch to put the Spartans ahead 37-35 with 7:23 remaining in the game.

Cabell Midland never got the lead back.

Second-seeded Greenbrier East (24-1) advances to the semifinals for the second time in three years. The Spartans won the 2012 championship but missed the tournament last season.

Sierra Jordan had 10 points and 13 rebounds for seventh-seeded Cabell Midland (18-7), which was in the tournament for the first time since 1998.
