Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane!

No, it’s CUPID — a drone that can incapacitate a criminal suspect with 80,000 volts of electricity!

On display at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) conference and festival in Austin, Texas, CUPID, or the Chaotic Unmanned Personal Intercept Drone, is an innovative law enforcement concept tool developed by the Chaotic Moon Studios technology company.

Known as the “stun copter,” CUPID is a remote controlled drone based on a Tarot Hexacopter and outfitted with a Taser. Though just a concept item now, CUPID could be operated by a pair of police officers via a smartphone app that would allow them to track and, if necessary, zap a suspect from above.

Production hasn’t yet begun on CUPID, but how long will it be before a stun copter is available for personal use and home protection?
