BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Kiara Pankins scored 18 points as Lafayette defeated Glasgow 61-47 on Wednesday in the first round of the KHSAA Girls’ Sweet 16.

Lafayette (28-3) handed Glasgow (29-7) its first loss since Jan. 17, breaking an 18 game win streak for the Lady Scotties.

Dee Givens added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Region 11 champion Generals who will face Butler in the second round on Friday in Diddle Arena.

The Generals jumped out to an early 17-5 lead in the first quarter and led by as much as 20 points while not allowing Glasgow to score a field goal for a 7:44 span between the second and third quarters.

Breanna Glover tallied 20 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots for the Lady Scotties. Shalika Smith had 16 points for the Region 4 champions.
