CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Hope Lester had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead Westside to a 56-42 victory over Scott in the girls Class AA quarterfinals Wednesday.

Westside never trailed after halftime, going on a 10-1 run late in the third quarter to jump ahead 42-31. Scott got no closer than nine points the rest of the game.

Faith Davis added 12 points and Danielle Brown scored 10 for second-seeded Westside (19-3), which advances to play No. 6 Keyser (24-2) in Friday’s semifinals.

Ali Whitman scored 14 points and Julie Conway and Maddy Weeks added 11 apiece for seventh-seeded Scott (18-6).

Westside lost to Bridgeport in last year’s finals and beat Scott for the 2012 state championship. Scott didn’t appear in last year’s tournament.
