HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas signee Anton Beard scored a game-high 29 points and Kevaughn Allen added 28 as North Little Rock earned its second straight championship with an 89-81 win over Springdale High in the boys Class 7A title game.

Beard, who signed with the Razorbacks in November, had 13 in the first half as the Charging Wildcats (26-2) built a 14-point lead. Allen followed with 16 points in the second half as North Little Rock held off the Bulldogs, who were making their first championship game appearance since 1998.

Allen was 9-of-14 shooting, while Beard - the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player - was 12 of 23 from the field. K.J. Hill also finished in double figures with 12 points.

Christopher Owens led Springdale (22-6) with 30 points, while D.J. Evans had 22.
