ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Firefighters in Chugiak, near Anchorage, say a 14-year-old girl who fell 30 feet at Thunderbird Falls has been hospitalized in stable condition.

KTUU-TV reports (https://is.gd/BmK5AO ) that volunteer fire units responded to the falls shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.

Fire department spokesman David Eastman says members of the Alaska Pacific Ice Climbing Club helped get the girl to the top of the falls.

The spokesman says it’s not immediately clear why the girl was at the falls or how she fell.
