BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Sioux Falls Washington held Sturgis to seven points in the second half and coasted into the championship game at the South Dakota Class AA girls basketball tournament with a 55-28 win over the Scoopers.

The Warriors (22-2) will try to win their fifth state title and first since 2010.

Kelsey Knecht had 14 points and Sydney Koel added 13 for Washington, which did not allow a point in the fourth quarter.

Ellie Benson had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Sturgis (18-6) had its 12th state tourney berth end a game short of a title chance.

Lynsey Prosser had 10 points and a team-high five rebounds for Sturgis.
